Dee lives in Albuquerque with her husband and while they have three grown children and three grandchildren, she’s having a blast raising Memar – their 12 year old daughter from Ethiopia. While teaching English in a secondary school in Ethiopia in 2008, a little 8 yr old shepherd brought her sheep to graze on the grass outside their home each afternoon. As the months unfolded it became apparent that she needed a family and they had one. So, before they knew it, they were on a journey back to Albuquerque to pursue Memar’s education.
